Windsor Food Bank
The Windsor Food Bank is open to Windsor residents who are income eligible. Supplemental food is provided, including a variety of pantry items, fresh produce, and meat. Please see program eligibility requirements below.
Energy Assistance will be available to you through the Windsor Fuel Bank.
Groceries to Go
This program provides supplementary food items and educational materials to clients 60 and older every other Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the Senior Center. Clients in this program will choose from a variety of easy-to-prepare and nutritious food choices. This program is funded in part by the Older Americans Act through the North Central Area Agency on Aging, Windsor Social Services, and the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. A SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamp Program) Outreach Event will be held on the first Wednesday from 1 to 4 PM and third Friday from 9 AM to noon of each month at the L.P. Wilson Community Center. Volunteers will be available to determine eligibility and to complete applications. We cannot accommodate walk-ins, so please schedule an appointment at 860-285-1839.
Many school children receive free or reduced meals during the school week at their schools but may be lacking food on the weekends. The Weekend Wheels program distributes supplemental food to children in need in Windsor through the elementary schools during the school year. Children from eligible families will receive a backpack filled with nutritious foods each Friday to bring home for the weekend. See program eligibility requirements below. Free or reduced school meal participants automatically qualify.

The table below shows a yearly gross income for each family size. If your household income is at or below the income listed for the number of people in your household, you are eligible to receive TEFAP commodities. (235% of poverty).

Foodshare sends a Mobile Foodshare truck to the parking lot at 130 Deerfield Road on alternating Fridays to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals and families in need. The distribution time is from 8:45 to 9:15 AM and the winter season begins Friday, January 4, 2019. No registration is required but you must bring your own bags.
